Fatal Pedestrian Crash Reported on Montgomery Avenue
The California Highway Patrol is actively investigating a deadly pedestrian crash that took place in Nuevo on Thursday.
Just after 7 p.m., the victim was struck on Montgomery Avenue for unknown reasons.
The victim was found lying on the ground once first responders arrived and sadly died at the scene.
No information was provided on the involved driver.
A stretch of the street was shut down for quite some time after for investigation purposes.
California has the highest pedestrian fatality rate which is 25% higher than the national average.
