The California Highway Patrol reported a fatal motorcycle collision in Encino Tuesday night, February 21st.

The California Highway Patrol reported a fatal motorcycle collision in Encino Tuesday night, February 21st.

An SUV collided with the motorcyclist just before 8 p.m. within the eastbound lanes of the 101 Freeway.

This caused the bike to become trapped beneath the SUV.

Paramedics freed the rider form the wreckage but he sadly died at the scene.

His identification is being withheld at this time.

No information was provided on the driver of the SUV.

An active investigation remains underway.

Statistics have shown that 80% of motorcycle accidents result in serious injury or death.

Majority of accidents involving motorcycles are due to the other driver’s lack of visibility of the rider.
