Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision Reported in Riverside County

Two residents of La Quinta died in a crash involving a semi-truck on Friday evening, January 13th.

It was around 6 p.m. when the accident occurred on Airport Boulevard.

Henry Villanueva, 73, and Sandra Villanueva, 72, unfortunately died at the scene.

The cause of the accident remains unclear at this time.

No injuries were reported from the driver of the truck.

An active investigation remains underway.

Occupants of passenger vehicles are more likely to be seriously injured after colliding with trucks due to the difference in weight between the vehicles.

These types of accidents are often caused by the braking capability of trucks.
