DUI Collision Leaves Big Rig Driver Dead
CHP reported a fatal DUI collision in Merced on Monday night.A vehicle attempted to pass a big rig on Highway 99 at a high rate of speed, causing it to become crammed between the big rig and guardrail.As a result, the big rig jackknifed and overturned down an embankment.Gerardo Gonzalez, of Sacramento, was the driver of the big rig and became pinned inside.Unfortunately, Gonzalez, 55, died at the scene.Police arrested the at-fault driver on DUI charges. He has been ID’d as Anthony Carrasco.
