Two Women Killed in Sun Village Traffic Accident
The women who were killed in a car accident in Sun Village have been ID’d as Ericka Gonzalez, 26, and Esmeralda Rangel, 23.
According to CHP, the collision occurred at the intersection of Avenue R and 100th Street East.
Gonzalez was driving north in a Hyundai Venue around 2:30 p.m. with Rangel as her passenger.
A speeding GMC Sierra ran through a stop sign, causing a collision with the Hyundai.
As a result, the Hyundai propelled and crashed into a Toyota.
Sadly, both women were killed and the driver of the Sierra suffered minor injuries. He was also arrested after.
In addition, a passenger in the GMC was left with moderate injuries and both occupants of the Toyota were not injuries.
