A drunk driver fatally struck two bicyclists in Rancho Cucamonga on Tuesday, January 17.

At about 8:20 p.m., a Kia sedan hit the riders at the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Etiwanda Avenue.

Sadly, both cyclists were pronounced dead at the scene once paramedics arrived.

Both were ID’d as a 42-year-old homeless woman and a. 41-year-old homeless man.

It was also reported that the involved driver fled the scene after the crash but was later located and arrested on gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and DUI charges.

Someone dies every 50 minutes in the U.S. due to drunk drivers. It is important to always obey traffic rules and avoid distractions while driving.
