Injury Reported Following San Diego Pedestrian Accident

A 65-year-old woman was hurt after being hit by an impaired driver in San Diego on Monday afternoon.

At about 3:21 p.m., a Honda Civic struck the woman as she was crossing La Jolla Village from a mall’s parking structure.

Upon impact, the victim was thrown into the air and landed on the Honda.

She suffered a broken leg and several injuries and was hospitalized for treatment.

Following the crash, the driver fled the scene but was soon located by authorities. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

An active investigation remains underway.
