Gavin Matthew Robinson ID’d in Fatal Crash

22-Year-Old Killed in San Luis Obispo Hit-and-Run

A bicyclist, ID’d as Gavin Matthew Robinson, 22, was fatally struck by two vehicles in San Luis Obispo on February 11th.

The incident took place around 8 in the evening at South Higuera Street and Prado Road.

Per police reports, Robinson was struck first by a driver who fled the scene, and then a second vehicle hit him.

The second driver remained at the scene.

Authorities also located the hit-and-run driver shortly after and arrested him on felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter.

Further details will be provided once an investigation is concluded.

Bicyclists are vulnerable on the roads due to their lack of protection and drivers not being aware of their rights and responsibilities.
