Elderly Man Critically Injured Following San Diego Pedestrian Incident

A serious accident near Balboa Park in San Diego has left a 92-year-old man critically injured after he was struck by a car while crossing the street. According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision happened when a 78-year-old woman was driving a 2020 Honda Accord sedan southbound on 6th Avenue. At that time, the elderly male pedestrian was attempting to cross east through the intersection, walking within the marked crosswalk. For reasons still under investigation, the driver failed to stop in time and struck the man. Witnesses at the scene quickly called for emergency assistance.
