Deadly Crash Reported on Bear Valley Road in Victorville Two vehicles were involved in a fatal traffic collision on Monday in Victorville. A Buick Verano and Subaru Impreza collided just before 12:30 in the morning on Bear Valley Road. According to reports, the Buick was traveling east when it drifted into westbound traffic. As a result, the Buick crashed head-on with the Subaru. Unfortunately, both drivers were declared dead at the scene. In addition, a passenger in the Buick sustained severe injuries and was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. He has been ID’d as a 62-year-old man.
The area was shut down for several hours pending investigation. While head-on collisions account for just 2% of all motor-vehicle accidents, they make up 10% of all fatal accidents.
These types of crashes are most common on two-lane highways and more than half result in a fatality.
