Stephen Stith ID’d in Fatal Pedestrian Accident

Bakersfield Pedestrian Crash Kills Stephen Stith

72-year-old Stephen Stith died in a pedestrian accident on Monday morning in Bakersfield.

At around 6:16 a.m. on March 13th, a vehicle struck Stith at the intersection of Harris and Wible Roads.

Stith and his dog were walking at the time of the accident, but the dog was left uninjured.

The involved driver was fully cooperative with authorities at the scene.

An active investigation remains underway.

California has the highest pedestrian fatality rate which is 25% higher than the national average.
