On Monday morning, tragedy struck Vasco Road, connecting Contra Costa and Alameda counties, when a head-on collision killed an individual.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), it appears that the driver of a Ford Fusion crashed into a tractor-trailer combination while on the road.
Sadly, the Ford driver did not survive the impact, while the driver of the tractor-trailer remained unscathed. The aftermath of the accident resulted in the CHP closing Vasco Road in both directions and a Sig Alert was ordered between Byron and Livermore for several hours.
