Kern County DUI Accident Kills One & Injures Another 

The California Highway Patrol is actively investigating a deadly DUI collision that took place in Kern County Tuesday morning.

William Pederson, 52, was traveling north when he veered into opposing traffic, causing a head-on crash with a Toyota.

It was just before 4 a.m. when the wreck took place on Highway 65.

Unfortunately, the 53-year-old female driver of the Toyota died at the scene.

In addition, Lucy Martinez, 50, was hospitalized with moderate injuries. She was the passenger of the Toyota.

It was also discovered that Pederson was impaired at the time of the accident. He was arrested on DUI and other charges.

Someone dies every 50 minutes in the U.S. due to drunk drivers. It is important to always obey traffic rules and avoid distractions while driving.
