A hit-and-run driver fatally struck 64-year-old Kevin White on Thursday night.
The incident took place in Blue Jay, California, on March 16th just minutes before 8 p.m.
Per CHP, White was hit by a vehicle on SR-189 and unfortunately died at the scene.
No other details have been provided at this time.
An active investigation remains underway.
California has the highest pedestrian fatality rate which is 25% higher than the national average.
Additionally, 20% of pedestrian deaths include fleeing drivers and pedestrians and bicyclists are 68% more likely to be killed in hit-and-run accidents.
