Minor Injuries Sustained in Bicycle Collision on Northcrest Drive

Avian Law Group reports a bicycle accident that happened in Crescent City involving a pedestrian and a motorist. On April 18, 2023, around 11:28 a.m., on Northcrest Drive, south of East Washington Boulevard, a blue Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck hit a bicyclist, causing minor injuries. California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials responded to the scene.

The rise of distracted driving caused by cell phone usage or driving under the influence has contributed to an increase in bicycle accidents. Bicyclists are vulnerable to sustained injuries on the roadway, and a negligent driver can easily lead to an accident resulting in serious injuries.

In California, a bicyclist is considered a vehicle, and they have the same rights and are expected to follow the same traffic rules as motorists. For this reason, motorists should share the road with bicyclists and give them the space they need to manoeuvre. Hence, motorists must check their mirrors and blind spots before making turns or changing lanes.

Victims of bicycle accidents are entitled to compensation for damages such as medical bills, loss of income, and pain and suffering. Therefore, it’s essential to seek legal representation from experienced attorneys who can evaluate the case, determine its merits, and file a claim against the liable party.

At Avian Law Group, our attorneys have years of experience in handling personal injury claims, and we provide personalized representation tailored to the unique circumstances of our clients.
