A 43-year-old man was hit and killed at a bus stop in Santa Fe Springs on Sunday.
The incident took place at 4:10 p.m. on Shoemaker Avenue and Telegraph Road.
He has been ID’d as Anastacio Honorato-Parra.
Unfortunately, the man was hit and the driver fled the scene on foot.
Parra suffered major injuries and died on a sidewalk.
The crash remains under investigation.
California has the highest pedestrian fatality rate which is 25% higher than the national average.
Additionally, 20% of pedestrian deaths include fleeing drivers and pedestrians and bicyclists are 68% more likely to be killed in hit-and-run accidents.
