Angelica Plasencia has been ID’d as the woman injured in a crash that left her husband and and two children dead in Fontana last week.
On January 14th, the family was traveling west in a Lexus SUV when an eastbound Ford veered into opposing traffic.
It caused a head-on collision between the two vehicles on the 210 Freeway.
Angelica and her 5-year-old daughter were hospitalized with major injuries as a result.
Unfortunately, her 16-year-old daughter, 3-year-old son, and husband died in the collision.
Investigators are actively working to determine fault for the crash.
While head-on collisions account for just 2% of all motor-vehicle accidents, they make up 10% of all fatal accidents.
These types of crashes are most common on two-lane highways and more than half result in a fatality.
