A devastating two-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning in Wildomar left one person dead and another critically injured, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The fatal collision occurred at approximately 6:25 a.m. at the intersection of Bundy Canyon Road and Harvest Way. Preliminary reports indicate that the crash happened when one of the vehicles attempted to enter Bundy Canyon Road and collided with another car traveling through the intersection. The exact sequence of events remains under investigation.
First responders from Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department arrived to find both drivers trapped inside their respective vehicles. Fire crews worked swiftly to extricate the victims from the wreckage before transporting them to Inland Valley Medical Center.
Tragically, one of the drivers succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other driver sustained major injuries and remains in critical condition, according to hospital officials. The names of the victims have not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The collision led to temporary lane closures as deputies and crash investigators examined the scene, took witness statements, and attempted to determine whether speed, right-of-way violations, or impaired driving were contributing factors.
