30-year-old Michael Tamez, from Atwater, fell victim to a hit-and-run crash on Monday morning.
Tamez was fatally struck around 8:15 a.m. on Santa Fe Drive.
An eastbound vehicle reportedly hit the man, causing him to be thrown onto the south shoulder.
The involved driver fled the scene immediately after.
