29-Year-Old Man Hit & Killed in Santa Barbara Crash A Goleta resident, identified as Michael Saffold, 29, was hit and killed on November 17th in Santa Barbara. The pedestrian crash took place on Highway 101 just before 2 a.m. that Thursday morning. Saffold was crossing the highway when a vehicle struck him under unclear circumstances.
