Mary Phister Killed in Pedestrian Accident

Elderly Woman ID’d in Fatal Clovis Pedestrian Accident 

81-year-old Mary Phister fell victim to a pedestrian crash in Clovis last Wednesday. 

It was at about 5:30 p.m. when the woman was struck near Herndon and Del Rey Avenues. 

Phister was going to check her mail when a Mazda struck her on January 4th. 

She was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center with major injuries where she sadly died. 

No injuries were reported from the involved driver. 

An active investigation remains underway.

California has the highest pedestrian fatality rate which is 25% higher than the national average.

  • Be aware of your surroundings
