The cause of a deadly pedestrian accident that occurred on March 14th in Ontario remains under investigation.
It was at about 5:17 in the morning when a vehicle struck Carla Massey, 61.
The incident happened near Grove Avenue and Riverside Drive.
Unfortunately, Massey died at the scene due to severe injuries.
It was also reported that the involved driver fled the scene.
California has the highest pedestrian fatality rate which is 25% higher than the national average.
Additionally, 20% of pedestrian deaths include fleeing drivers and pedestrians and bicyclists are 68% more likely to be killed in hit-and-run accidents.
