One person was killed and another injured in a solo-vehicle crash in Lafayette on Sunday.
According to CHP, a woman was driving a Toyota Yaris SUV just before 10:30 a.m. on Highway 24 when she drifted off the roadway.
As a result, the SUV struck a tree in the center median.
Joseph Salmeron, 24, of El Sobrante, was the passenger who sadly died after being transported to the hospital.
The woman was also hospitalized with major injuries.
An active investigation remains underway.
