An elderly woman, ID’d as Irma Higgins, died in a multi-vehicle collision in Hemet on Wednesday, February 15th.
Per reports, Higgins was riding in a Chevrolet Spark driven by her daughter. Her daughter allegedly pulled into the path of a pickup truck on Ramona Expressway.
This caused the pickup truck to push the Chevy into a minivan that was turning onto Lincoln Avenue.
Irma Higgins & her daughter both had to be extricated from the vehicle. Paramedics rushed Higgins to Riverside University Medical Center where she unfortunately died.
Additionally, the daughter was airlifted to a trauma center with severe injuries. She remains in critical condition.
The driver of the truck along with two children, ages 6 & 8, suffered minor injuries and were sent to a hospital for evaluation.
An active investigation remains underway.
