A 26-year-old woman, ID’d as Breanna Romero, has been ID’d in a fatal head-on collision that took place Saturday.
It was just minutes before 10:30 p.m. when the two vehicles collided in Watsonville on March 4th.
Per CHP, a southbound vehicle driven by Angelica Varon drifted into opposing lanes which caused the accident.
Three people were hospitalized with major injuries and Romero sadly died at the scene.
It was also later concluded that Varon was impaired at the time of the crash.
While head-on collisions account for just 2% of all motor-vehicle accidents, they make up 10% of all fatal accidents.
These types of crashes are most common on two-lane highways and more than half result in a fatality.
